FRIENDS ACADEMY FALL FAIR AND HOMECOMING ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 3
Friends Acadmey will hold its Annual Fall Fair and Homecoming on Saturday, October 3 from 10 am to 4 pm, rain or shine. Everyone from the community is invited to attend.
An active Fall Fair committee, chaired by Friends parent Sandy Themelis of Muttontown and Michelle Statfeld of Melville, has planned a day of festivities, fun and activities for all ages. The Fall Fair is a great community event with rides, games, athletic events, arts and crafts, great food and more! Youngsters will enjoy a wide variedy of activities including a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, grafts and of course RIDES! New this year - a costume sale hosted by the Friends Academy Theatre Department featuring recent productions and a photo booth to capture Fall Fair Memories. For adults, the Fair offers bargains galore in the gently used clothing and bric-a-brac boutique called "Gideon's Attic." Shop for children's books and toys, as well as selections from the ready-to-wear boutique. A special addition to Gideon's Attic will feature and enormous selection of brand-new designer shoues for adults and children by poplar brands including Michael Kors, Cole Haan and Isaac Mizrahi. Fairgoers can also enjoy an assorment of delicious foods including fressclams, lobster rols, Asian delicacies and more. Back by popular demand, we are pleased to present "A Taste of the Caribbean," which will be serving up a variety of traditional food from the islands. Visitors should save room for our delicious desserts fom the Quaker Baker, Want S'mores and Sushi Candy. Don't foret to have an amazing cady apple on your way out. Athletic events take place throughout the day beginning with the FA Boys Junior Varsity Football vs. Oyster Bay at 9:15 a.m.; Boys Junior Varsity Soccer at 10 a.m. vs Oyster Bay; Girls Varsity Soccer vs. aour Lady of Mercy at 2 p.m.; the FA Girls Varsity Tennis team vs. Lutheran at 1:30 pm; the FA Girls Varsity Field Hockey team vs. Great Neck South at 2 pm; and finally, round the day out with and exciting contest - FA Boys Varsity Soccer team vs. Wheatley at 4 pm. Enrolling 779 students from age 3 through Grade 12, Friends Academy is guided by its Quaker heritage and the principles of integrity, simplicity, patience, moderation and a peaceful resolution of conglict. The shcool is located on 65 acres at the intersection of Piping Rock and Duck Pond Roads in Locust Valley/Glen Cove. |
