IN SUPPORT OF LARA GONZALEZ FOR NORTH SHORE SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATIONReceived from Allison and Peter Gottfried
May 4, 2014 To the Editor: We are writing to urge you to vote for our friend and colleague for the North Shore School District Board of Education. We worked with Lara Gonzalez for nine years in Great Neck Schools before she left to pursue a position as a school administrator in another district. Currently she is a K-12 Supervisor in the Oyster Bay –East Norwich Schools. Lara lives in Sea Cliff with her husband and three children. Next year she will have a first grader at Sea Cliff Elementary School, a sixth grader at North Shore Middle School and an eleventh grader at North Shore High School. Lara is deeply invested as a parent in the North Shore School district. As a community member who will have a child at each level, she can represent families with children of all age groups. Lara has worked as a teacher and administrator combined for almost twenty years. As a teacher she was committed to maximizing her students’ potential. She worked effectively with students of all backgrounds and ability levels. Lara has expertise in public education across the grade levels and she understands the value of a well-rounded education that includes world language, the arts, technology, and athletics. She will work hard to preserve the academic excellence that we expect from the North Shore School District. Lara Gonzalez is bright, energetic and accomplished. She is a good listener and a concerned citizen with experience in multiple school systems. She has approached education from various perspectives – that of parent, taxpayer, teacher, and school administrator. She will be an asset to our community as School Board member. Vote Lara Gonzalez for North Shore Schools Trustee! Sincerely, Allison Romeo Gottfried, Glen Head Peter Gottfried, Glen Head BACK TO OPINIONS BACK TO HOME PAGE |
