VOTE McGILLOWAY, ROHL AND PARISI FOR SEA CLIFFReceived from Phil Como, Sea Cliff
February 23, 2018 To the Editor: Regarding the upcoming Sea Cliff election, the "Vote For Sea Cliff" theme is offered on behalf of the candidacy of Kevin McGilloway and Henriette Rohl for village trustee; and Charles Parisi for village justice. These excellent candidates offer a depth of experience that will certainly benefit our village. Deputy Mayor McGilloway is running for re-election and is deeply involved in the various facets of everyday life in Sea Cliff. Kevin is widely respected for his achievement and calm demeanor in the conduct of his work. Henriette Rohl is a longtime resident whose experience on our traffic committee and environmental commission points to her leadership credentials. She also was involved in the creation of the "Butterfly Garden" in the Lafayette triangle. Last year, Henriette was a prime organizer in the Sea Cliff School graduation-and continues her active role as the parent of a middle school student. Charles Parisi is also a longtime resident and the product of our schools. He has been associate justice for several years and looks forward to continuing his service as village justice. Our "Vote For Sea Cliff" message is simple: to have this election debate focus on the matters of concern to Sea Cliff residents; matters that affect all of us: finances, services, future vision, residents' welfare, infrastructure, our beaches and parks and our relationships with our neighbors. Our candidates understand that this election is not about one particular concern, but a variety of challenges to keep our village financially strong and to continue its place as a highly sought-after community offering a great deal to its residents. For over seventy years, The Civic Progress committee has made its business to identify and select leaders in Sea Cliff. From year to year, this committee has played no policy role in governance and offers no advice to elected officials once they are elected. There is no outside agenda other than a civic Sea Cliff agenda. After seventy years, it has for the most part produced a village of beauty and stability. Please plan to cast your vote on March 20 for this excellent slate of candidates. Sincerely, Philip Como |
