MUTUAL CONCERNS SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS AT ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER
January 1, 2016 -- The Sea Cliff-based charity Mutual Concerns hosted its annual holiday dinner at the Sea Cliff Methodist Church this past Christmas Day. Dozens of guests, some from the local area and others a bit further away, stopped by for good company, festive holiday entertainment and a turkey meal with all the trimmings.
Begun two decades ago by Sea Cliff resident Terry Sciubba, the event has not only attracted guests, but also many volunteers who have helped to prepare and serve meals, provide entertainment, operate a shuttle service bringing guests to the Church, and clean up. Sea Cliff resident John Canning emceed the event, and along with Sea Cliff resident Sue Giordano, led in the singing of carols, while Andrew and Debra Fossette played piano; Angelo Antinori, drums; Danielle Fossette, cello; Paul Halou, guitar; and Dawn the glockenspiel. Towards the conclusion, all volunteers and guests came together in a rousing rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Local businesses also contributed greatly to the effort with Arata's and the Metropolitan Bistro donating food. Working the kitchen and serving food were Terry Sciubba, Ed Lieberman, Peter Fleishman, Theo Fleishman and his friend Ali, Barbara Sinenberg, Margaret Evans, Stu Rodal and Andrea King. |
