SEA CLIFF HANUKKAH HAPPENING CELEBRATES HOLIDAY'S TRADITIONS
December 23, 2016 -- More than 100 Sea Cliff residents from a wide variety of religious and spiritual creeds turned out for Hanukkah Happening on Wednesday, December 21 at the Sea Cliff Fire Department to enjoy good company and celebrate the holiday's traditions. Children spun dreidels, worked on crafts, and decorated cookies while snacking on latkes and chocolate gelt. Later in the evening, following Rabbi Irwin Huberman of Congregation Tifareth Israel (CTI) explaining the significance of the Hanukkah story, celebrants lit menorahs. Hanukkah Happening, a Sea Cliff tradition that has been held for more than three decades, was organized by Julie Gordon-Hert and Dina Epstein with the help of Marcie Denberg, Liz Winchester, Lisa Cashman, Laurie Grinberg, Naomi Bush, Stacey Stroot, Caryn Horstmann, Laura Franco, Rob Hert and Fred Eisenstein. Junior helpers included Will Winchester, Lexi Stoff, Fiona Shonik, Keegan Brown, Maddie Bush, Emma Hert, Zeke Hert and Danny Eisenstein.
