HEMPSTEAD HARBOUR CLUB OPEN HOUSE EVENT TO BE BE HELD ON MAY 14
April 20, 2016, Glen Cove, NY … Hempstead Harbour Club will hold a Commissioning Day Open House event for prospective members on Saturday, May 14th from 10am until noon. Founded in 1891, the Hempstead Harbour Club is an historic landmark and hidden gem on Long Island Sound. Located at the end of Garvies Point Road in Glen Cove, the Club offers something for everyone: the avid sailor, the casual boater, water sports enthusiasts, and those just looking to take in the perfect sunset from the Club’s wraparound porch.
“Our Open House event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the Hempstead Harbour Club membership and what makes the Club such a special place for families” said Commodore Christopher Lucas. “We invite you to join us for a season filled with spectacular sunsets, spirited sailing and all that has made Hempstead Harbour Club a second home for our members since its founding 125 years ago.” The commitment to preserving the Club’s culture and traditions becomes immediately apparent when entering the club house or the Club’s wraparound porches. Frequent social events and casual and competitive racing provide a rich and varied experienced for adults and children alike. During summer months, the Club’s active Junior Sailing program introduces children aged 8-15 years old to a healthy activity they will enjoy their entire lives through a gradual progression of instruction geared for everyone from first-timers through experienced racers. Hempstead Harbour Club is proud to celebrate its 125th anniversary and welcomes our local community to a 2016 Commissioning Day Open House from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 14th.
