JOIN US FOR THE - AAA BIKE RODEO AT GLEN HEAD SCHOOL ON APRIL 29
The Boy Scout Troop 195, Glen Head School PTO and North Shore Community Youth Organization will be hosting the AAA Bike Rodeo on April 29th from 9:00 – 11:00AM, weather permitting.(Rain will cause this event to be canceled automatically.)
The Bike Rodeo is a program designed by AAA for students (in grades 2-5 only) to test out their bike-handling skills on a specifically designed course. Students will have an opportunity to complete nine stations beginning with helmet, tire and bike seat safety checks. The remaining stations will focus on use of hand signals and safe bicycle maneuvering skills. Completing the course should take approximately 15-20 minutes. However, there may be some additional wait time needed if there is a large turnout.
We have six time slots for you to consider but students will go through the course on a first come-first served basis. The time slots are 9:00, 9:15, 9:30, 9:45, 10:00 and 10:15. There will be an opportunity for an organized bike ride around the school building to allow students to practice the skills presented in the rodeo immediately afterward. This should take an additional 5-10 minutes.
