DIX HILLS, NY – Friends of SCO Family of Services’ Madonna Heights programs teed up June 13th for the 36th Annual Madonna Heights Ladies Golf Classic in Muttontown, Long Island. The event, held at Woodside Acres Golf & Country Club, raised vital funds to support the young women and families in Madonna Heights’ care.
Victoria DeLaurentis of Lloyd Harbor received the Madonna Heights Spirit Award. Victoria has been very active in the Lloyd Harbor community and has been involved with Madonna Heights for more than 10 years. “We are honored to recognize Victoria DeLaurentis for her compassion and commitment to Madonna Heights and lucky to have so many friends who have supported these life-changing programs through this event for 36 years. It’s a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the spirit of the entire community,” said SCO Executive Director Douglas O’Dell. Madonna Heights provides an environment that teaches, strengthens and empowers young and adult women to heal from trauma. Located on a campus setting in Dix Hills, it provides 24-hour care in order to address their physical, emotional, and social needs, building confidence, strengthening family bonds and supporting the transition back home or to a new home in the community. The Madonna Heights School serves young women in our residence as well as girls referred from local schools who need extra support and an individualized academic program. For women in recovery and homeless mothers and their children, Madonna Heights provides a therapeutic environment and a safe haven.
