GLEN GARDEN CLUB HOLDS ANNUAL SPRING LUNCHEONApril 23, 2014 - The Glen Garden Club held its annual spring luncheon this past Wednesday at the Swan Club in Glenwood Landing. Floral designer extraordinaire Carl Lemanski was the event's special guest.
Presenting on the topic "Blossoms and Bird Nests," Mr. Lemanski created spectacular arrangements as he told stories and jokes, and offered flower arranging tips and advice. NORTH SHORE BOE CANDIDATES INTRODUCE THEMSELVES TO COMMUNITY AT MEET THE CANDIDATES FORUMApril 28, 2014 -- This past Thursday evening, the three candidates vying for the two seats up for grabs on the North Shore School Board, introduced themselves and responded to questions from community members at a Meet the Candidates Forum sponsored by the North Shore Coordinating Council and moderated by the Port Washington chapter of the League of Women Voters.
The three, Joanna Commander, Lara Gonzalez, and Rob Mazzella, offered their personal biographies, and explained their positions on a variety of issues over the course of the hour and a half event. READ MORE SEA CLIFF VILLAGE BOARD ADOPTS 2014-15 BUDGET; TAXES HELD IN CHECK FOR RESIDENTS, LOWER FOR BUSINESSESApril 28, 2014 -- At its April 21 meeting and budget hearing, the Sea Cliff Village Board voted unanimously to adopt the budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year. The spending plan of 5,533,049, which represents an increase of 2.4% over last year, will result in virtually no change in the average resident's tax bill, with a homeowner whose property was assessed at $600,000 last year seeing a $3.41, or 0.145%, increase for 2014-15. Commercial property owners will actually see a decline of 0.354%. READ MORE

SCBC AND SEA CLIFF SECOND GRADERS TO OBSERVE ARBOR DAY WITH TREE PLANTING AT GEOGEHAN PARK ON MAY 2In observance of Arbor Day, the Sea Cliff Beautification Committee will be hosting a tree planting at Geogehan Park on Friday, May 2 at 2:15 pm. This springtime tradition, in which the Sea Cliff School second grade plays the central role, takes place at one of the village's many parks each year. READ MORE

The North Shore Board of Education established the Legislative Action Committee (LAC) as a Citizen’s Advisory Committee of the Board for the purpose of serving as a liaison between the community and our Trustees regarding legislative matters that have a direct bearing on fiscal or educational aspects of the North Shore Central School District.
